The Music Biennale Zagreb and the Croatian Composers’ Society present MBZ 34 Prelude, a two-day program introducing audiences to the upcoming 34th edition of the festival, which will take place from April 10 to 18, 2027. Through a concert and a club evening on April 16 and 17, 2026, at the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb and KONTEJNER, the Biennale opens a new chapter, presenting its thematic and programmatic frameworks, revealing new partnerships, and announcing projects through which the festival expands beyond the traditional biennial rhythm: MBZ PRO and MBZ PLAY.Guided by the theme PLAY! / IGRA!, the new edition is dedicated to imagination, movement, and collective creation. After several cycles focused on analytical and conceptual approaches, MBZ 2027 shifts its focus back to the experience of art as an act of play – performance, participation, and mutual inspiration.
Thea Soti and Marijan Felver at KONTEJNER
On Friday, April 17 at 7 PM, at KONTEJNER (Odranska 1/1), a night blending concert and club formats will feature Thea Soti – a vocalist, composer, and sound artist who explores the voice as an instrument and questions the boundaries between composition and improvisation. In her work, she combines voice and poetry, examining identity and humanity within digitally mediated environments. The evening concludes with Marijan Felver, a DJ, selector, and promoter, and a key figure of the Zagreb and Croatian club scene, who will present a somewhat unusual and therefore exclusive ambient-experimental set, gradually guiding the night toward more dance-oriented rhythms.
Admission to the MBZ 34 Prelude at KONTEJNER is free.
