Subversive Artistic Practices: Conflicts of Power and the Production of Affect explores how contemporary art – through the body and technology – responds to mechanisms of power in surveillance society. Through an analysis of subversive and transgressive practices, especially those grounded in performativity and technoscience, the author examines how art can act as a form of resistance and destabilization of norms. The book focuses on KONTEJNER’s curatorial practice as a concrete case of applying theoretical insights and analyzes artistic strategies within the context of affective politics, bioethics, cultural institutions, and aesthetics of resistance.
