2020, kinetic sculpture

Two windscreen wipers wipe or “stroke” an imitation of fur.

Towards the middle, the mechanism wipes the fur smooth, but immediately afterwards the movement goes in the opposite direction, against the grain, and raises the fur again – a constant movement with and against the grain. The fur is being stroked in a loving way, but at the same time the wipers are causing abrasion.
