The art project "All-Aligned" by a Serbian artist Uroš Krčadinac raises the question of what, in this age of proliferation of digital capital, the rapid multiplication of meme fronts and the overall inflation of meaning, does the standard repertoire of national symbols such as flags, mottos, coats of arms and anthems represent? Exhibition of kinetic video installations by Nika Oblak & Primož Novak, an artistic duo from Slovenia, is open at Gallery VN in Zagreb from September 27th to October 15th. Spatial sound installation "Chijikinkutsu" by Japanese artist Nelo Akamatsu is the first event of our annual celebration programme consisting of exhibitions, performances, conferences, artwork productions, workshops and publications marking the 20 year anniversary of KONTEJNER. New artistic production by Branimir Štivić (HR) under the title “B E L L O W S” has bees reaalized as a part of a residential training within the framework of the project Re-Imagine Europe. The installation will be presented at Device_art festival 7.012 in Zagreb, at the Museum of Contemporary Art from 23rd November to 19th December 2021.
Through one week, our curators Jurica Mlinarec and Luja Šimunović went through a digitization workshop and visited the collection of the Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, and in Berlin they explored the new manifestation Future Perfect Land and visited the curators of Art Laboratory Berlin.

Set up on the ground floor of Exportdrvo building in Rijeka, the interactive robotic installation "Hysterical Machines" of renown Canadian artist and roboticist Bill Vorn will be open for public from August 13th to September 19th, 2020. After the opening on Thursday, August 13th at 7 p.m., the installation will stay open every day from 5 to 9 p.m., with an admission fee of 10,00 HRK. Croatian artist Tomo Savić-Gecan is exhibiting at the Sculpture Garden Biennale, which will be held from June 12 to September 30, 2020 at three locations in the center of Geneva (Park des Eaux-Vives, Park La Grange and Quai Gustave-Ador). Italian artist Margherita Pevere arrived in Zagreb for the second phase of her residency in KONTEJNER. After the initial phase in Dubrovnik at the biotechnological laboratory UR Institute, Pevere is currently continuing her bio-art research on the materiality and desires of the leaky body.

Re-Imagine Europe is a four-year project with 10 cultural institutions from across Europe, addressing the social and political challenges we face today.
Our 2019 EMAP residency has started with the launch of Margherita Pevere’s (IT/DE) artistic research in biotechnological laboratory of our partner - UR Institute located in Dubrovnik. First phase of the project is scheduled to last from April to May. Afterwards, Pevere will continue developing her artwork at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, from July to August 2019.
