Olga Majcen Linn at the “Decentralised Networks of Care” Conference in Cyprus

Curator, theorist and development advisor for the KONTEJNER association, Olga Majcen Linn, is participating in the international conference “Decentralised Networks of Care”, which will take place on 18 and 19 April 2026 in Limassol, Cyprus, organised by the NeMe Arts Centre.

The conference “Decentralised Networks of Care” features a series of timely talks and open discussions addressing the role of non-governmental organisations within the contemporary art system. Despite their significant contributions to artists, communities, education, and the economy, cultural non-profit organisations face a range of challenges—from limited funding and competition for resources to shifting audience demographics. These conditions often result in reduced visibility and public recognition of their work, even though it remains vital to the development of the arts, the cultural economy, and society as a whole.

On Sunday, 19 April 2026, from 11:00 to 12:00, Olga Majcen Linn will deliver a lecture titled “Intense Curating as a Practice of Care: The Case of KONTEJNER”, presenting care-based curatorial practices through the example of the organisation KONTEJNER.

The conference is part of the international project TOOLKIT OF CARE (TOC), which brings together an interdisciplinary network of artists, researchers, academics, and organisations specialising in creative technologies. The project aims to develop a so-called “critical network of care” through the exchange of knowledge and practices across Europe and internationally.

The conference is open to the public, and all those who happen to be in Cyprus at the time are invited to attend. More information on link.
