Mark Paterson is a lecturer in Human Geography at the University of Exeter. Between 2002 and 2006 he was Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of the West of England (UWE). In 2002 he completed his Ph.D. in Human Geography at the University of Bristol. Before his academic life, he had been an English teacher in Zimbabwe and Japan, and worked for non-pro∫t organisations in the UK. In 2006 he wrote The Senses of Touch in Sydney, Australia, with a grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC). From 2008-2011 he has a GWR grant to look at human-robot interactions with OC Robotics, Bristol.
