Karolina Sobecka is an artist working at the intersection of art, science in technology. Her projects investigate what drives technological innovation, and shapes the philosophy that inscribes humans in nature. Karolina’s work has been shown internationally, and has received numerous awards, including from Creative Capital, Rhizome, NYFA (New York Film Academy), Princess Grace Foundation - USA, Eyebeam, Queens Museum, VIDA | Art and Artificial Life International Awards and Japan Media Arts Festival. Karolina founded the art and design studio Flightphase, has taught at Rhode Island School of Design, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, School of Visual Arts New York, University of Washington, and Scripps Institution of Oceanography (UC San Diego). She is a doctoral researcher at the Institute for Aesthetic Practice and Theory, HGK FHNW Basel.
