The programme rounds off this year’s series of workshops on the technical production of light, video and sound, jointly organised by KONTEJNER, Operacija grad and Pogon. The workshops aim to share knowledge and empower those involved in producing cultural programmes, as well as those who are just starting out, with a particular focus on technical skills in light, video and sound, as well as on planning the technical aspects of producing their own events.
With this new discursive format, we want to create a space for informal conversations about experiences of producing performances, concerts, exhibitions and other cultural events, from both the perspective of technicians and that of producers and cultural workers. Through relaxed gathering and conversation, we aim to encourage the sharing of knowledge in technical production and event delivery, as well as an exchange of experiences around the challenges of working professionally in the cultural sector and ways of navigating them.
Alongside the discussion on production, there will also be a presentation by Bruno Pocheron, a French artist based in Berlin, light and sound designer and scenographer. He will speak about the artistic practice of light design in the context of contemporary economic and ecological changes in the performing arts, and how these changes affect artistic practice itself. The culture of replacement versus innovation and maintenance, costs, economic and artistic impacts, as well as alternative approaches and practices, are among the topics Bruno will explore, inviting the audience to join the discussion.
The programme will be rounded off with a live performance by electronic music producer monovan (Marino Vinja). The technical production of the performance will be handled by participants of this year’s light and sound workshops, with support from their mentors.
