Yunchul Kim | 김윤철 (KR)

Yunchul Kim is an artist and electroacoustic music composer whose practice explores the fundamental dynamics of Transmatter and Mattereality. Transcending the realm of human experience, his work demonstrates the potential of imagination to create new realities. He envisions a material world that exists before language and culture defined it as a dimension where humans, non-humans, machines, and materials hold equal agency. In his works, matter exists not as an object but as the subject of events, a concept he defines as "Transmattering." Kim has received international awards, including the 2016 Collide International Award from CERN, Prix Ars Electronica, and VIDA 15.0. His works have been exhibited internationally, including the Korean Pavilion at the 59th Venice Biennale; 798CUBE, Beijing; Yokohama Triennale; CCCB, Spain; Science Gallery Melbourne; FACT Liverpool; Frankfurter Kunstverein, Frankfurt; ZKM, Karlsruhe; and Copenhagen Contemporary. He served as chief researcher of the transdisciplinary research group Mattereality at the Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS), participated in the art-research project Liquid Things at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, and was a member of the international art and science project team Fluid Skies. He is the founder of Studio Locus Solus in Seoul.

Hrvoje Hiršl (HR)

Hrvoje Hiršl is a transdisciplinary artist working at the intersection of art, science, and technology. His practice investigates the ways in which natural and technological systems shape perception, materiality, and the construction of reality. He develops process-oriented artistic structures that can be initiated and guided but ultimately evade complete control, creating a space between determinacy and uncertainty. His work encompasses drawing and painting, sound and light installations, performance, and immersive robotic systems. Through phenomena such as resonance, entropy, feedback, and quantum processes, he explores the relationships between the visible and the invisible, the measurable and the indeterminate. He has participated in numerous international residency and research programmes and has collaborated with scientific institutions including the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Garching and TU Delft (Delft University of Technology). He was an invited participant in AND AND AND as part of documenta (13) in Kassel and represented Croatia at the London Design Biennale in 2016.

Earl Park | 박얼 (KR)

Earl Park is an artist who lives and works in Seoul, South Korea. While designing novel forms of media, he developed an interest in the basic materials and technology that underpin new media. Drawing on his personal familiarity with machinery, he explores diverse relationships between the human and the machine, questioning the conventional limitations of terms such as “machine-like” and “human-like,” thus expanding their boundaries while connecting them to seemingly antinomic definitions. He realizes these ideas mainly through kinetic / robotic installations. As a member of ‘Media artist Group: Jonpasang’ (2009-2017), he participated in the planning and installation of large-scale works such as Hyper-Matrix, Brilliant Cube, Shinsegae main department store façade, and Paradise City project. He was selected as a residency artist at Incheon Art Platform (2020), Asia Culture Center (2015, 2017, 2018) and Seoul Art Space Geumcheon (2012), and took part in several group exhibitions, including the Creators Project: Seoul, Da Vinci Creative, Daejeon Biennale, Changwon Sculpture Biennale and Korean Cultural Centre UK.

Hugo Baranger (FR/HR)

Hugo Baranger was born in Niort (France) and grew up in the heart of the Green Venice region, the Marais Poitevin. The colours, winter fog, and landscapes of this area form the foundation of his visual iconography. At the age of five, he was diagnosed with severe astigmatism and hyperopia, both of which had gone undetected until then. As a result, his visual perception was largely shaped by blurry sight and difficulties with perception and focusing. Hugo graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts in Angoulême in 2016, where he co-founded the Nani$ôka Groupe collective. He has exhibited and performed in Canada, China, France, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Portugal, and Japan.

Vladimir Novak (HR)

Vladimir Novak bases his artistic practice on investigating the boundaries of sculpture as a medium through objects, light installations, and sound installations, with a particular emphasis on the poetics of space, medium specificity, and affective intensities. Through iterative working processes, he examines and dismantles the boundaries between media, exploring the relationships between the visible and the invisible, as well as the concepts of body and mass, object and installation, stillness and movement, and light and shadow. His recent minimalist and subtle interventions in gallery and public spaces emphasise the processual nature of artistic practice and the interconnectedness of the artwork with natural and urban rhythms. He is particularly interested in transformations from one medium to another, as well as in the physical and socio-ecological resonances of his works. Operating at the threshold of perceptibility, in the ambiguity between malfunction and artistic gesture, he challenges the viewer's perception, sense of time, and patience, questioning the boundary between aesthetic experience and the banality of everyday phenomena. He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his artistic work.
