Over the course of three days, MUTEK Forum brought together more than 100 international artists, researchers, technologists, curators, studios and cultural practitioners. Through its interdisciplinary programme, the Forum explored developments in electronic music, digital art and emerging technologies, with a focus on research, experimentation and collaboration.
Under the theme “Symbiotic Frequencies”, MUTEK Forum 2026 explored the relationships between artificial intelligence, living systems, artistic practices and technological infrastructures. This edition examined how computational tools are reshaping not only creative processes, but also the very conditions through which we coexist and engage with the world.
Through talks, critical discussions, performances and workshops, the Forum brought together voices from across the arts, research and creative industries to reflect on more ethical, sustainable and human-centred technological futures.
Curators Teklić and Begović presented KONTEJNER’s work and programmes, met with a range of international delegates and artists participating in the Forum and Art Market, and attended the festival programme.
Launched in the year 2000, MUTEK is dedicating itself to the presentation of live electronic music and real-time audiovisual performance, making it one of the rare outlets in North America for such innovations. After 20 years, the festival’s future-seeking mandate has matured—and while the promise has in many ways caught up with the present—its commitment to the ongoing mutations and variations of contemporary digital creativity remain, with its eyes and ears still fixated on what comes next.
