The Extravagant Bodies deals with the ways in which society determines the boundaries between normal and pathological – whether it is physicality, appearance, behavior, sexuality or lifestyle. Physical disability, mental health and the social implications of old age are some of the themes that have marked the previous editions of this international, transdisciplinary art project, which has been held since 2007.

Participation in TTT “Taboo-Transgression-Transcendence in Art & Science” 2023 includes a performance program curated by curators and theorists dr Olga Majcen Linn and dr Sunčica Ostoić from KONTEJNER, with performances by renowned Croatian artists Siniša Labrović (“Next Year in MoMA“), Marko Marković ('Performing Devouring Politics”) and Vlasta Žanić (“Spinning”). Each of the performances represents one of the categories from the name of the TTT conference – Siniša Labrović deals with taboo, Marko Marković with transgression, and Vlasta Žanić with transcendence.

In addition to artistic performances at the TTT conference, Ostoić and Majcen Linn will have presentations entitled “From Queerness to Normalization of Disease in Contemporary Art at the Intersection of Science, Technology and the Body”, and Marko Marković will present new research in the field of interspecies communication.
