Applications are open for the lecture-workshop "Introduction to Music Industry Literacy"

We invite everyone interested to apply by 2 November for the lecture-workshop "Introduction to Music Industry Literacy", which will take place on 14 November 2026 at KONTEJNER, led by Emir Fulurija.

How can you present and promote your music project and open up new opportunities? The interactive lecture-workshop “Introduction to Music Industry Literacy”, aimed at musicians, offers a practical overview of everything that happens beyond music production itself but is important for developing a music career.

Who’s who in the music industry, and who should you contact? How do you prepare an EPK and present your project? How do you find suitable venues and promoters, communicate with the media, and use PR, social media and video to promote your music? The workshop will also cover showcase festivals, their role in career development, and how musicians can access these opportunities, with practical examples and time for questions.

The lecture-workshop will take place at KONTEJNER on 14 November 2026, from 4 pm to 8 pm. Places are limited, and anyone interested can apply by emailing izvorista.music@gmail.com by 11:59 pm on 2 November 2026. Applications should include contact details (email address and phone number), a few sentences explaining the applicant’s motivation for taking part, details of the music project they are involved in (a band or solo project), and the project’s goals for the next five years. Applicants should also include links to their project (Bandcamp, YouTube, Facebook, Spotify, etc.).

The workshop is led by Emir Fulurija, music journalist, editor of the radio programme Izvorišta, and concert organiser with around ten years of experience in music event production and promotion. He has organised around 150 concerts to date, primarily in world music, folk music and jazz. He curates the Vrelo zvuka programme at Močvara and Lisinski srijedom & Izvorišta at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall. He is a member of an international music network and has contributed to selecting artists for the showcase programme at Budapest Ritmo.

The workshop is part of the project Sound Experiments, funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme.
