The workshop is conceived as a series of encounters in which members of the performance collective BADco. attempt to conjure up to those attending the workshop the creative potential of their own everyday movements.
In order to be able to see our own movements as possible creative material, it is enough to change our ideas about these movements, to see them from outside and start to combine them. The dancers of the BADco. collective use for the purpose the computer tool WDT that in many ways functions as an active mirror, for it helps the user to manipulate the image of their movements and create an improvised real-time choreography.
The workshop consists of a short introductory training class and creative work, including the possible specific interests and wishes of the workshop attendees.
BADco. (HR)
BADco. is a performance collective from Zagreb. The collective, in which contemporary dance, choreography, dramaturgy and philosophy come together, consists of Pravdan Devlahović, Ivana Ivković, Ana Kreitmeyer, Tomislav Medak, Goran Sergej Pristaš, Nikolina Pristaš, Lovro Rumiha and Zrinka Užbinec. Since its foundation in 2000, BADco. has systematically – through performance and research – dealt with theatre and dance performance as a problem field, re-examining settled forms of performance, representation and watching. The red thread that goes through all their work is the understanding of the theatrical act as an unstable exchange of communication, as a complex imaginary that asks the watcher to master the freedom of watching. During the last 13 years they have produced some twenty performances, research and educational projects, with regular participation by other local and foreign artists, often supported by local and foreign producers, shown on theatres world-wide.
