Taking a peek behind the scenes: Writing a film

10–24/10/2013

Klovićevi dvori Gallery (Zagreb)

There are certain rules to writing a screenplay the aim of which is to make communication among the several professional positions during the making of a film easier.

During the workshops the participants acquire knowledge about these rules, focusing on methods and conventions that are laid down in the American film industry. Examples of screenplays of well-known films are analysed, as well as the screenplays of the participants, which they, under expert guidance, write and develop during the workshop.

The rules can be broken only after they have been learned and thoroughly understood, and only if there is a pressing need.
