Hysterical machines in Exportdrvo, Rijeka - prolongated until 19th September!
Set up on the ground floor of Exportdrvo building in Rijeka, the interactive robotic installation "Hysterical Machines" of renown Canadian artist and roboticist Bill Vorn will be open for public from August 13th to September 19th, 2020. After the opening on Thursday, August 13th at 7 p.m., the installation will stay open every day from 5 to 9 p.m., with an admission fee of 10,00 HRK. The project is realized as a part of the Rijeka 2020 – European Capital of Culture programme and its flagship Dopolavoro, in collaboration with NGO Drugo more.

Tomo Savić-Gecan at Sculpture Garden Biennale in Geneva
Croatian artist Tomo Savić-Gecan is exhibiting at the Sculpture Garden Biennale, which will be held from June 12 to September 30, 2020 at three locations in the center of Geneva (Park des Eaux-Vives, Park La Grange and Quai Gustave-Ador). Tomo Savić-Gecan will exhibit two works – a new production created for the Biennale and a work that is the result of his one-month residency at CERN, realized in 2017 in cooperation with Arts at CERN, KONTEJNER and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia.

Research of interspecies dialog throughout sound: new two-month EMAP residency
Spanish artist duo uh513 – María Castellanos and Alberto Valverde have started their two-month residency as part of the EMAP – European Media Art Platform, a network of eleven European cultural institutions and organisations that annually offer production grants to emerging European artists.

POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - KONTEJNER's programme for Rijeka 2020
This spring Rijeka, European Capital of Culture for 2020, will offer an opportunity to visit four installations of well-known international robotics and sound artists. Massive ferocious machines will allow us to control them, sympathise with them, climb them and fly them - bringing a bit of Burning Man feel to the city, along with a healthy dosage of playfulness and hypnotic movement, light and sound immersions.

"Mobile faces - material interactivity" workshop
In collaboration with Radiona.org / Zagreb Makerspace and as a part of a larger project called “Korak dalje – prema uključivoj kulturi”, we are organizing a two-day "Mobile faces - material interactivity" workshop. The workshop will be held on 21st and 22nd December 2019 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Radiona.org, address: Nova cesta 186, Zagreb. The language of the workshop is Croatian.

Extended deadline for EMAP 2020 and 2021 residencies applications
The European Media Art Platform will offer EMARE residencies for artists working in the fields of digital media – in internet and computer-based arts, in sound or video art, in media-based performance, as well as in robotics or bio-art. The upcoming call covers residency stays in 2020 and in 2021 at eleven renowned European media art organizations. Deadline for Applications is extended and to December 9th 2019, 12:00 CET.
