Sensitive mapping in Vjesnik
Three workshops that will explore the history, present, and future of the Vjesnik complex and its surroundings through the lenses of architecture, urbanism, sound, and smells will take place at KONTEJNER on Saturday and Sunday, March 16th and 17th. During these days, three groups of students, guided by artists, will test a new mobile application for sensitive mapping developed within the Future DiverCities project.

Sip & See at KONTEJNER: Katja Banović (HR/AT) and Xavier Madden (AU/AT) present "Bacteria Babies"
The Exhibition Bacteria Babies: Sip & See by Katja Banović and Xavier Madden presents an installation made of bacterial cellulose, which the authors cultivated for months in Pula and Vienna in collaboration with the local community. The premiere of this work, realized within KONTEJNER’s production platform DIY_ARTLAB, will take place on February 15, 2024, at 7:00 PM, and will be accompanied by a guided tour by the artists and a baby kombucha adoption event. The exhibition is open until February 24, 2024.

Pangolin at KONTEJNER: Donna Haraway's "Cyborg Manifesto" (Edition Main Tables 0), Promotion and Public Reading
Join us on February 6 2024 at 6 p.m.at the promotion and public reading of the first edition of the new Edition Main Tables 0 series. The Cyborg Manifesto by Donna Haraway, translated by Marko Maras and feminist editing by Iva Grgić and Biljana Kašić, editorial team: Ana Hušman, Ivana Meštrov, Nikola Bojić, Marko Tadić (visual additions), Ana Labudović/RISO and friends (design) will be read in its entirety. In addition to the reading, there will be discussions about the edition itself and the overall publishing project of the Edition Main Tables 0 collective. Copies of the printed edition will be available at the promotion. The promotion will take place at KONTEJNER, Odranska 1/1, and the reading will be broadcasted online with a link available just before the event.

European Media Art Platform - The Artist Selection 2024
What noise is actually cancelled from the world by noise-cancelling technology? What tactics can we use to trick biased AI hiring bots? How can the reinterpretation of archaic cultural contexts shed new light on our present? These are some of the exciting questions the artists selected for the EMAP 2024 residencies will work on. Other selected artists will create synthetic rainbows, collect biological traces and memories in a pandemic archive or explore topics such as compost as superfood, exhausted landscapes and the link between time and weather.

Fred Frith's masterclass and concert in January at KONTEJNER
Internationally renowned guitarist, multiinstrumentalist and composer Fred Frith will lead a three-day long workshop, i.e. masterclass, based on his very specific approach to improvisation, experimentation, performance and composition. Concert by Fred Frith and Susana Santos Silva "Laying Demons to Rest" will be held at KONTEJNER on Tuesday, 16.1.2024. at 9 pm (entry from 8 pm).
