DIY_ARTLAB is one of the very few local platforms dedicated to contiunous and successful production of artworks by Croatian artists working in the field of innovative, intermedia and investigative artistic practices. The platform interconnects Croatian artists with experts from the fields outside of the artistic and cultural realm (science, technology, IT sector, medicine, social work) and fosters intersectoral collaboration on different levels - from the newly produced artworks as the main focus of this platform, to the new transdisciplinary ideas and concepts. The platform is thus focused on encouraging local artists in more ambitious approaches to the reseach and realization of their ideas, as well as in experimenting with technology and science, which contributes to the development of the local scene and increases its visibility on local and international level.

Each year an open call is announced for Croatian artists interested in applying for participation in the DIY_ARTLAB platform.

Until today, Kontejner has produced over 50 artworks by more then 40 local artists as a part of this project. The produced artworks have been presented in Device_art, Touch Me and Extravagant bodies festival programmes, as well as in solo and group exhibition in Europe, Asia and North America.
