Andrea Palašti (RS)

Andrea Palašti, a visual artist, was born in 1984 in Novi Sad. She did first and second degree courses in the Art Academy in Novi Sad, photography department. Since 2006 she has been exhibiting and working together with other artists, artistic collectives and initiatives. To date she has presented her works at several solo and collective shows at home and abroad. She deals with research from the domain of the (new) cultural geography, critical topography and history. She uses a symbolic language in the framework of “documentary practices” and sets up a conceptual framework for renewed understanding of aspects of contemporary life. Currently she is working on several artistic projects in which she uses curatorial strategies/practices, impulses and gestures that in a methodological way blur the boundaries between artist and curator. Since 2009 she has been attending an interdisciplinary doctoral course at the Art University in Belgrade, department for art theory and media. She has a scholarship from the Ministry of Science for young doctoral candidates. She deals with the theory of photography and culture.
