Davide Grassi (SI)

Davide Grassi, since 1995 has worked and lived in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where he intensively collaborates with several artists and institutions. His artistic work has a strong social connotation and is characterized by an inter-media approach. He is the author of numerous videos, performances, installations, documentaries and new media works. He is a member of the BAST Collective and of SC-N project. He leads Aksioma -Institute for Contemporary Arts, a non-profit cultural institution based in Ljubljana, Slovenia, which is interested in projects that take advantage of the new technologies in order to investigate and discuss the structures of modern society. It concentrates on artistic production that explores social, political, aesthetic and ethical concerns, and uses the Internet as a creative laboratory for the exchange and distribution of ideas and knowledge.

Davide Grassi has presented his work worldwide in several exhibitions, festivals and lectures among them, Manifesta 4, Frankfurt, Germany; ZKM - Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie, Karlsruhe, Germany; ARCO - the International Fair of Contemporary Art, Madrid, Spain; ISEA 2002 - 11th International Symposium of Electronic Art, Nagoya, Japan; the Biennial of Buenos Aires, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Buenos Aires, Argentina; Moderna galerija - the Slovene Museum of Contemporary Arts, Ljubljana, Slovenia.
