Friedemann „Fried“ Dähn (DE)

A cellist, sound-artist and composer working in classical, contemporary and electronic music as well as in media and video arts. Between 1990 and 1993 he has been cellist of the Ensemble Modern in Frankfurt, where he had the possibility to work with K. H. Stockhausen, Ornette Coleman and Frank Zappa, to mention only a few. At the same time he developed an electric cello and started his own musical projects in the fields of improvisation, electronic music and jazz as well as projects combining different genres of art as sound and language or music and visuals. Since 2004 he owns a professorship for audio design and sound arts at the University for Applied Sciences in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany
