Total Refusal is an artist and research collective working through the appropriation and misuse of commercial video games. Describing themselves as a pseudo-Marxist media guerrilla, their practice of counter-playing reads game mechanics, environments, NPC routines and missing affordances as political material, addressing architecture, desertion, labour, masculinity, meritocracy, and political exhaustion.
