Vesna Gulin is a biologist, currently working as a research and teaching assistant at the Faculty of Science, Department of Biology, University of Zagreb, Croatia. Ever since she first heard of Leeuwenhoek's animalcules, Vesna was fascinated with these single-celled eukaryotic organisms (i.e. protists) and was slowly but surely absorbed in the exploration of world at micro scale. Her ongoing research investigates the potential use of periphytic (biofilm) protozoan assemblages as indicators of fast-changing tufa environments, overgrown with invasive plant species.
If she is not by the microscope, Vesna can be found in the kitchen, her home lab or in a comfy chair, reading a good book. She is a wanderlust who equally enjoys a hygge lifestyle and traveling the unknown.
